SST is participating in a large-scale project, the construction of a water tunnel for the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (Plan 9), as the supplier of the world's largest gate valves.

The sales and marketing department for mechanical products presented and received an order for parallel-sealed metal gate valves for use in water tunnel projects, replacing conventional butterfly valves. The metal gate valves used in this project are large, electrically controlled gate valves, and are being used in three water tunnel construction contracts.

1. Contract G-TN-9B: Tunnel construction project along Ratchaphruek Road, from Khlong Mahasawat to Phetkasem Road.

- Gate valve, 2800 mm, 1 unit.

- Gate valves, 3400 mm in size, 2 units.

2. Contract G-TN-9C: Tunnel construction project along Kanchanaphisek Road from Kanlapaphruek Road to Bang Mod Pumping Station.

- Two 3000 mm gate valves.

3. Contract G-TN-9D: Construction project of a tunnel along Kanchanaphisek Road and the old railway line, from Bang Mod Pumping Station to Samrong Pumping Station.

- Four 3000 mm gate valves.

Currently, the prototype floodgate (unit 1), with a size of 3000 mm (the largest floodgate in the world at present), has begun production in November 2022 and will be completed and tested in December 2023, attracting significant interest.

This test was honored by the presence of the Governor of the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority and all relevant teams. The installation plan involves disassembling the water valve for transportation and then reassembling and installing it at designated locations between April and June 2024.
